WAVEDRIVE

Getting Started

Quick Start

WaveDrive is ready to sync in three steps. Once linked, it runs in the background and requires no ongoing interaction.

  1. 1

Install WaveDrive. Download the app and open it. It will appear as an icon in your macOS menu bar. If you'd like it to start automatically, enable Launch at Login in Settings.

  2. 2

Link your WavePlan account. Click the menu bar icon, then Link Account. Follow the Device Link flow to authorize WaveDrive in WavePlan's Security settings. See Device Link for a step-by-step walkthrough.

  3. 3

Choose a sync folder. Open the WaveDrive window, click Add Folder, and select the folder you want to sync. Choose a Folder Type that matches the content and you're done.

WaveDrive will immediately perform an initial sync of the selected folder, then watch for new changes continuously. All activity is visible in the Activity Log.

Getting Started

Your First Sync

When you add a sync folder for the first time, WaveDrive performs an initial sync: it compares every file in the folder against your WavePlan library and uploads anything that doesn't already exist remotely.

WaveDrive does not blindly overwrite files during the initial sync. It checks file checksums and timestamps to determine what action is correct. If a file already exists in your WavePlan library with the same content, it is matched without re-uploading.

Delta Sync

After the initial sync, WaveDrive switches to delta sync mode. Rather than re-scanning the entire library, it polls WavePlan for a list of changes since the last known cursor position. This is efficient even for large libraries — only new or changed items are processed.

What WaveDrive Does Not Do

  • Local deletions are not propagated to WavePlan in v1. If you delete a file locally, it will not be deleted from your WavePlan library.
  • WaveDrive does not rename or reorganize files. File paths are determined by your sync folder structure.
