Keep your audio library in sync — automatically. WaveDrive lives in your menu bar and connects your local files to your WavePlan account without you ever thinking about it.
WaveDrive Documentation
This guide covers every feature of WaveDrive — from first launch to advanced sync configuration.
Wavedrive
What Is Wavedrive?
WaveDrive is a native macOS menu bar application that keeps your local audio files in sync with your WavePlan library — automatically, in the background, without interrupting your workflow.
It complements WavePlan's browser-based workspace: files you create in your DAW appear in WavePlan ready to annotate, compare, and plan against. Files you download or reference in WavePlan sync back to your local drive. The two products are designed to feel like one continuous studio environment.

-
Lives in Your Menu Bar
WaveDrive sits quietly in your macOS menu bar. There's nothing to open, nothing to remember — it runs at login and keeps your library current while you work.
-
Works at OS Level
WaveDrive operates outside your DAW. It doesn't require a plugin, doesn't touch your session, and has no impact on your DAW's CPU budget.
-
Configurable Sync Folders
Point WaveDrive at any folder on your Mac — or multiple folders with different types. Audio files, bounces, and commercial references each sync with the right part of your WavePlan library.

How Wavedrive Works
WaveDrive monitors your designated sync folders using macOS FSEvents — the same system your backup software uses. When a file changes, WaveDrive evaluates it against your sync rules and queues it for upload, download, or conflict resolution.
The sync engine is event-driven but cautious: it pauses during high-activity periods (like a live DAW session) and performs a full reconciliation scan after things quiet down. No files are ever lost — decisions are logged in the Activity Log for review.
Watch
WaveDrive watches your sync folders in real time using FSEvents. New, modified, and deleted files trigger a sync evaluation immediately.
Evaluate
Sync rules determine priority and direction. The engine checks checksums, timestamps, and your configured sync mode before taking action.
Sync
Files are uploaded to or downloaded from WavePlan via encrypted HTTPS. The Activity Log records every operation so nothing is invisible.
